Littlejonny100's Air Gear Tv Review

Rated: 7

Ever play one of the 'Jet Set Radio' games?... Take away the spray-paint and you'd almost have Air Gear. The formula of Air Gear would fundamentally be a light touch of romance (both straight and slight yaio), a heavy touch of comedy (often twisted and perverted), mixed in with plenty of smooth, pulsing action. The action comes in two main forms, fighting and Air Trekking, whether that be joy riding or one of the many battles. These parts ultimately give an upbeat anime which acts are a near future portrayal of urban street life.

Another important sensation that is hard to define is the reaction you have when witnessing someone else's undying passion for a cause, the characters are passionate about Air Trek and in turn you also feel that urge to support them.

I absolutely loved this. There were certainly lots of laughs. Had a good mixture of action and comedy. Warning to a younger audience that there is profanity and some mature content. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this to young adults!

Nice design, nice art, nice soundtrack. Boring episodes, too repetitive, excessive attempts at trying to give us some humour. Lost intrest in the characters too easily, lack of plot and character depth. Nothing special.

Loved this initially. The logic/physics, believability (use of real world people annoyed me greatly; felt like abuse), convoluted plot, and constant ecchi made me drop this almost instantly though. Skimmed the last few chapters simply out of curiosity and wasn't surprised or impressed. Can't say much about the anime since I haven't seen it, but the manga is a let down. The only saving grace is the art work, which really is gorgeous. But, as I already said, much of it is blatant ecchi. Wouldn't recommend it.

You know, compared to Ten-Ten, Oh Great! 's previous work, I think, AG presents a nice contrast from the blood, babes and boobs before mentioned, yet it is still chained to this oversized final arc, where the entire world suffers with the battle agains the "final boss". Finishing with over 350 chapters, Air Gear is a great work, but all the dragging has caused me to lower it's grade by 0,5. Not (only) because I have a short patience, but also because it just takes too long to finish. The art, however, as a trace of Ito's style, is splendid and the humor quite lightening. Long story short, if you have a lot of free time in your hands, and does enjoy the author, reading this marvelous of humanity's flying wish a must.

This anime is a great series with a strong ending and good characters. Air Gear is about a young boy named itsuki minami, aka ikki, who rides A-T with his friends as they rise to the top of the A-T world. What I like about this series is that it is inventive, intuitive, and adventurous. The A-T’s that are designed are a great new way to look at extreme sports such as skateboarding or rollerblading. The mangaka, Oh! Great, looks in-depth to how an A-T could actually work. His character design good. I do not like the fan service as much as others probably do but his male characters Ikki, Kazu, and all the others are well done. The characters are well developed through out the manga and anime. The anime is not as long as the manga, it really barely scratches the surface of where the manga goes but the manga has gotten a little confusing toward the end. The part that the anime does cover however is very well done. I would even say that how the anime ends is better then how the manga is done at the end of the arc that it fallows. I really liked how the anime’s atmosphere felt while Ikki was jumping over all of his friends at the end of the anime. Ikki’s feelings really hit you hard while you are watching him try to make it over and push through to the end. The music to the anime is great. It is a little techno like and the opening theme is a great match for the show and is a great song to listen to. Over all I would say that the anime series is a very solid anime and worth a watch if you like shonen anime and manga.
