Air Gear Series
Nano-technology has allowed small and powerful motors to be attached to roller blade wheels and the result is the Air
Trek, high speed skates! Quickly gangs have sprung up claiming territories and power while sporting this new technology.
With gang warfare abundant naturally the fighting and disputes are eventually resolved using the same technology that
started it, hence the Air Trek battles begun.
This story follows one boy who knows no limits as he struggles to rise to the top.

Ever play one of the 'Jet Set Radio' games?... Take away the spray-paint and you'd almost have Air Gear. The formula of Air Gear would fundamentally be a light touch of romance (both straight and slight yaio), a heavy touch of comedy (often twisted and perverted), mixed in with plenty of smooth, pulsing action. The action comes in two main forms, fighting and Air Trekking, whether that be joy riding or one of the many battles. These parts ultimately give an upbeat anime which acts are a near future portrayal of urban street life.
Another important sensation that is hard to define is the reaction you have when witnessing someone else's undying passion for a cause, the characters are passionate about Air Trek and in turn you also feel that urge to support them.
The Anime was amazing in all points, it got some great comedy and with time a deep story, while i didn't liked how the manga turned out at the end its still one of my Top 10 Legendary Animes of all times
I didn't know what I was getting myself into when I started Air Gear and the ecchi here and there was definitely a put off. But the story was engaging, the characters interesting, and the visuals were stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed this series and wish that they would make some more episodes. Would recommend.
This anime is really awesome making it to be my first favorite anime... It is aired in our country when I am grade 5 and I always watch it everyday one episode at a time. It really is a great anime with great comedy scenes with the matching funny faces thats makes me laugh hard, I just got disappointed when they did not finished it hopes they finished it someday...
I watched it in Animax so everything was all censored. But some of my hentai classmates watch the ova and they way they described it was very dirty, well apart from those ecchii part it's a good anime, the way they ride their air-tracks (though it's super natural) it's very fascinating. I like simca from the anime she's cute but after she cuts her hair short she looks a lil' irritating.
I absolutely loved this. There were certainly lots of laughs. Had a good mixture of action and comedy. Warning to a younger audience that there is profanity and some mature content. Otherwise, I definitely recommend this to young adults!
Loved this initially. The logic/physics, believability (use of real world people annoyed me greatly; felt like abuse), convoluted plot, and constant ecchi made me drop this almost instantly though. Skimmed the last few chapters simply out of curiosity and wasn't surprised or impressed. Can't say much about the anime since I haven't seen it, but the manga is a let down. The only saving grace is the art work, which really is gorgeous. But, as I already said, much of it is blatant ecchi. Wouldn't recommend it.
You know, compared to Ten-Ten, Oh Great! 's previous work, I think, AG presents a nice contrast from the blood, babes and boobs before mentioned, yet it is still chained to this oversized final arc, where the entire world suffers with the battle agains the "final boss". Finishing with over 350 chapters, Air Gear is a great work, but all the dragging has caused me to lower it's grade by 0,5. Not (only) because I have a short patience, but also because it just takes too long to finish. The art, however, as a trace of Ito's style, is splendid and the humor quite lightening. Long story short, if you have a lot of free time in your hands, and does enjoy the author, reading this marvelous of humanity's flying wish a must.
This anime is a great series with a strong ending and good characters. Air Gear is about a young boy named itsuki minami, aka ikki, who rides A-T with his friends as they rise to the top of the A-T world. What I like about this series is that it is inventive, intuitive, and adventurous. The A-T’s that are designed are a great new way to look at extreme sports such as skateboarding or rollerblading. The mangaka, Oh! Great, looks in-depth to how an A-T could actually work. His character design good. I do not like the fan service as much as others probably do but his male characters Ikki, Kazu, and all the others are well done. The characters are well developed through out the manga and anime. The anime is not as long as the manga, it really barely scratches the surface of where the manga goes but the manga has gotten a little confusing toward the end. The part that the anime does cover however is very well done. I would even say that how the anime ends is better then how the manga is done at the end of the arc that it fallows. I really liked how the anime’s atmosphere felt while Ikki was jumping over all of his friends at the end of the anime. Ikki’s feelings really hit you hard while you are watching him try to make it over and push through to the end. The music to the anime is great. It is a little techno like and the opening theme is a great match for the show and is a great song to listen to. Over all I would say that the anime series is a very solid anime and worth a watch if you like shonen anime and manga.
Superb as far as sport themed anime go. It features an intriguing combination of motorised roller skates, ecchi and an obsession with becoming the best in the field and following the road of Kings. One of the first anime I watched, and definitely one of the most enjoyable ones. Too bad they have not animated the rest of the series.
Minami “Ikki” Itsuki, is a student and a delinquent. Also known as the “Unbeatable Babyface,” Ikki is the leader of the youth gang by the name of “East Side Gunz.” Upon his return home after being humiliated by a street gang of Storm Riders called the Skull Saders Ikki discovers a secret hidden from him by his benefactors, the Noyamano sisters. The sisters belong to a group of Storm Riders who go by the team name of Sleeping Forest. Keen on helping Ikki to regain his confidence and pride, they supply him with a pair of Air Trecks (abbreviated as “AT”). Ikki eventually settles his grudge with the Skull Saders, but in the process he receives more than the simple satisfaction of revenge. Determined to experience the sensation of “flight” for as long as he can, our headstrong protagonist is quickly sucked into the mysterious, yet irresistible world of Air Treck.
Speaking for the anime(season 1) only. Thou I have not much to say.
Overall, it's an enjoyable anime, lots of funny stuff going on and lots of mysteries yet to be revealed.
I also think the idea for Air Gear is very original. The characters keep on developing and lots of action. The presentation is good, and anime likes to ruin good art from manga. Haha, well not that it gives me problem.
So, in conclusion, it's enjoyable and I have a good time watching it. :)
Actually I remember just some parts of this anime,I really watched it and I think it's good, but for (maybe) over 1 year since I last saw it.I watched it on Animax but now that channel is not air in my country anymore, that's a reason why I can't watch it again( no time 4 searching on Internet T_T).Sometimes I really want to watch it on TV again once...
if tenjou tenge is bad this is worst!, the problem here is the poor adapatation, the quality of the draw is very poor and very variable (showing deformated faces and anatomy in much scenes), the colouring is poor and simple.the animation can't capture the dinamic and emotion of the manga... the op and ending themes don't suit in the concept of the series , and the low quality of the animation don't help much (giving a preview of the poor quality in the whole series).
story the adapatation is very poor , excluding much scenes considered gross and modifying other...the end this anime is weak and forced.
i recommend omit this anime and read the manga
COoL!! The battles with 'Air Gears' are awesome but the graphic is not that good. I hope the anime will have 2nd season. Ps: Somehow when I rewatched it after a few years later, it felt so dead boring.
So close yet so far away... The storyline was original & enjoyable, the character animation was "so-so" but the biggest disappointment was the ending. If... You can call that an ending. It's obvious that they were only about halfway finished when the ended the anime. (which I'm sure the manga finished) However, if that was the case, then why did you animate it in the first place?
