Usually referred to as "Asago-ojou-san" (young mistress), Asago is the 14-year-old daughter of the leader of Sumongumi,
the current top clan under Kuryugumi. She is snobbish, thinks very highly of herself and little of those of lower
position, and is used to giving orders. As decided by Kuryugumi's clans, Asago has been strictly raised to assume the
role of Ryuuji Shirogami's seisai (the yakuza leader's wife) once they come of age, and as such has superior
gun-wielding capability and an iron will.
When Asago first meets Tsukasa Kozuki, she instantly dislikes her although she can't pinpoint a reason for it. After
finding out that Tsukasa is actually a girl, Asago's increasing hatred and jealousy get even deeper, which in turn —
along with her and others' desire for her to be a "perfect" seisai — ends up taking a toll on her self confidence. A
significant part of the manga is spent developing Asago and Tsukasa's relationship, which fluctuates between cold,
hateful, and accepting.
After a major event, Asago meets the policeman Kai Munakata, whom she also intensely dislikes at first but grows closer to gradually.
