BABYMETAL J-Pop Idol
Tagged under Group, Waifu, Japanese Entertainers.
BABYMETAL is a Japanese group that combines the musical style of heavy metal with the cute look of idols which are
generally seen on the J-pop scene. It is comprised of Suzuka Nakamoto
("Su-metal"), Yui Mizuno ("Yuimetal") and Moa Kikuchi ("Moametal").
According to them, none of the members of BABYMETAL
had never heard of metal music before the creation of the group, and were at first apprehensive about the idea. The
group was initially established in 2009, around Suzuka (12 years old at the time), with producer Kobametal bringing in
Yui (10) and Moa (10) as "angelic backups". Their first concert performance was in November 2010, with international
tours debuting in 2014.
Their music has been well received both in Japan and worldwide, and they have
established several records - such as being the youngest singers to perform at Summer Sonic and Loud Park rock and heavy
metal festivals in Japan, and the youngest all-female band to perform at the Budokan arena in Tokyo.
