Beast Master Series

Yuiko Kubozuka is your typical tomboyish high school girl who has
normal friends and loves animals. The problem is... animals don't love her! Whenever she sees one, her love manifests
itself in a way that the animals deem violent, so she gets scratched and bitten a lot.
This situation changes one
day, when a new boy joins her class. And this boy seems to have a lot of traits similar to those of wild animals.

SO CUTE!!! X3 I love Leo and his wildness while being naive, and I love how caring Yuiko is toward him and the way their romance progresses through the manga. I literally needed a box of tissues at the very end. So sweet and romantic... An awesome shojo read I would read over and over until my eyes hurt, I give it a full A+!! :D

One thing I liked about this is the fact that even though it's shoujo, it's not full of the mushy, cavity-inducingly
sweet cliches we're used to seeing in this type of manga. The heroine is tough and fends for herself, even if a bit
boyish and impulsive (but that's what ultimately makes her so realistic).
The art is pretty good; the chibi faces are funny and most often angry, as opposed to the usual happy/cheerful ones, but
it looks quite good when "normal" as well.
In the end, I'd recommend this to those who are tired of girly girls and overly effeminate boys, it's definitely a
breath of fresh air as far as the shoujo genre is concerned.
it's sweet, it had potential - but it didn't really go all the way, unfortunately. Nonetheless, you'll get Kyousuke Motomi's usual cast - the vaguely-misunderstood hero who doesn't present the best of impressions but has a good heart all the same; and the heroine who blissfully and willingly ignores the often-threatening truth; and the relationship between them will always be a mix of sort-of squabbling, taking care of each other and "omg why why the hell am I still here, with YOU" -ness. In this case, not so much the latter - Leo's too naively adorable and Yuiko likes adorable animals too much. And not to forget, of the usual cast, you also will get - the ever-doting and often hilarious brother/son/daughter/granddaughter complex heh heh. It makes a nice shoujo anyway, and Motomi has this style where he/she just can't seem to take it seriously and has too much fun playing with the character interaction hahaha. It can take a bit off the plot maybe, so somethings just won't get as dramatic as I wish but still. Entertaining, with a touch of sweetness. And at least, even if Motomi repeats stereotypes, you don't feel like you're reading a duplicate of say, Dengeki Daisy.
