For me, Xam'd started on a strong note, however towards the middle and end of the series, my opinion of it slowly declined. The plot seemed to turn in a different direction than I was initially thinking it would. My complaint is that not enough time was focused on Akiyuki and the process of him going through his transformation from human to Xam'd and also from his past and present self.
