Even though "Brave Story" is a childish anime movie, it was very enjoyable to watch simply because the story was so simple but the characters and the development was great
The art was good, very cute but not very detailed, voice-acting was good too...The story is about a boy whose mom gets sick right after she's divorced, the boy hears about a "Portal" to a place where his wishes will come true and goes there to get his family back to where it was before, he follows another boy he met that could use magic
Both of them search different places and battle foes to acquire "Gems", once they have all of them, they can wish for something they want
The story develops around that, we get to see the main characters POV but we never really have much info about the other one, which he explains what happened to him and why he is there a little towards the end
It was a lovely and fun movie, with good scenery and a nice pace to follow, but if you prefer something more mature you might want to watch something else

We watched this in japanese class. At first the dragon turned me off a little xD
but in the end it was actually pretty good. Even though I think it's aimed at a younger age.
The story involves magical powers, and it talks about the hero working hard to grant his wish.
