10-year-old Sakura Kinomoto returns home from a typical day at school, after having a mysterious dream about a book that morning, and hears strange noises coming from her basement, where her father's library is. Upon investigating, Sakura stumbles upon the magical book of The Clow, and breaks its magical seal. Inside of the book, she finds a stack of cards, known as Clow Cards. She accidentally scatters the cards after she says the word "Windy", the name of the first card she picks up.

When the wind dies down, a small yellow creature named Cerberus rises from the book. He introduces himself as the guardian of the Clow Cards, and Sakura, upon scattering them, has woken him up. He tells Sakura that she must now gather all of the Clow Cards to prevent a certain catastrophe from happening. The story begins here, and with the help of Kero-chan (Cerberus's nickname), and Sakura's best friend Tomoyo Daidouji (who videotapes all of Sakura's adventures and makes all of her costumes), Sakura sets out on her journey to collect all the Clow Cards. Along her way she meets new friends, new enemies, and many challenges.

SaitoHajime101's Cardcaptor Sakura Tv Review

Rated: 6

Okay quite the number of issues to discuss. First area I like to cover is the length of the series and how episodic it really was. Now it seems like each episode connects right after another, but thats only true to an extent. It only connects when its running a current plotline that takes more than one episode. Aside from that its very episodic and it doesn't connect at all, especially when they're chasing Clow Cards for the first 20-something episodes. It didn't work well with this series that needed some constant reminders of what the plot was really about, not this consistent off-trackness it had going.

Second issue was the fact that the writers were looking for the theme to be love but they didn't quite make it clear enough until the second season.

One of Clamps ultimate successes in my opinion. Decent paced story, cute, interesting characters and a main plot that runs its course in classic fashion. I enjoyed this more than I thought I would but true to Clamp, there's a cross over hint with Tsubasa they just never get to...One can speculate, sure, but at the end of the day, it would be nice to have their linking of worlds mystery conclude at some point.

Truly a beautifully created series by CLAMP with a fun and engaging story, great characters, nice songs, and excellent voice acting by the seiyuu cast. I like this better than Sailor Moon because I feel Sakura is more of an inspirational heroine with her genuine and kind personality, courage, and is one I can say is a great role model for young girls in how she stays true to herself yet also strives to achieve something more and grow as an individual. The chemistry between Sakura and Shaoran is amazing in their shared character arc in how they grow close to one other is endearing. I get the feels when Shaoran and Sakura share a touching moment together and are a great anime couple. The animation style for the new anime looks great and it's doing everything right by using the same staff and cast of the original. Watching the new OVA was amazing as the seiyuu did amazingly well in voicing their respective character roles after all these years and still sound the same as they did back then. I look forward to Winter 2018 to see all the heartwarming feels of Shaoran and Sakura's relationship as a couple.

Episodic anime are a bit tiring, but I liked very much the idea of this one: powerful cards that create havoc in the city are to be caught by the girl who released them, helped by a cute speaking peluche! It's a bit childish, 'cause the characters are children for the most, but is very enjoyable. I didn't like the second series as the first one.
