In Tokyo's downtown district of Ikebukuro, amidst many strange rumors and warnings of anonymous gangs and dangerous
occupants, one urban legend stands out above the rest – the existence of a headless “Black Rider” who is said to
be seen driving a jet-black motorcycle through the city streets.
Ryuugamine Mikado has always longed for
the excitement of the city life, and an invitation from a childhood friend convinces him to move to Tokyo. Witnessing
the Black Rider on his first day in the city, his wishes already seem to have been granted. But as supernatural events
begin to occur, ordinary citizens like himself, along with Ikebukuro's most colorful inhabitants, are mixed up in the
commotion breaking out in their city.

Trying to tell someone precisely what DuRaRaRa is about is kind of like trying to explain to someone what the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is about-it’s next to impossible because of the oddness that goes into it. However, you can describe DuRaRaRa in genres-from slice of life to action to comedy and even romance, there aren’t many genres that DuRaRaRa couldn’t be classified as. Its ability to also blend supernatural and everyday life can draw in fans of all types-male or female-regardless of its presentation as a shounen anime. That said, DuRaRaRa certainly isn’t for everyone.

Very interesting. I like the way the story is developed, without a single protagonist but with many characters taking
their space (even if many things are just hinted). The first opening is so nice!
IZAYA ORIHARA: "Oh, and just because I like humans it doesn’t mean that I like you personally."
Its very different. So many events happening at once and yet everyone is connected. I love it. its funny, kinda dramatic and surprising in ways. All in all a great anime. The gang situation is awesome and by adding the supernatural elements to it make it even more exciting.
aozoraskies rated 8.00:The pace, humour and the medley of erm, interesting characters is what keeps Durarara! alive and kicking. Narita Ryohgo knows how to keep readers entertained indeed and very much in suspense. Got to love the interactions ( Bratty Masaomi/(happily) suffering Mikado/clueless Anri. Hyper Erika+Walker. The weirdness between Mikado and Izaya. Oh Shizuo/Izaya rage. wahaha) and how the nicest voice-acting actually belongs to the headless character lol. What is interesting that despite all the action and showdowns that have occurred so far, one gets the feeling that there is more to come and more to be revealed about the characters... Yeah, coincidences go a bit far even with all the mastermind-ing but still. There's got to be a valid explanation and it can't just be hitsuzen lol. Definitely a great drama to watch.
Glukogen rated 9.00:Oww, it has extremely many characters. And how I already understand every person has a secret and own line but somehow connects with others. The existence of a of the mystical personage is good for me. That intriquids! I also like unusually opening song
MisaSasekage rated 9.00:I enjoyed how different this show was from most anime as far as plot was concerned. My favorite characters were Izaya Orihara; he was mostly smart, calm and calculating. And my other favorite character was Shizuo Heiwajima, his incredible strength was always funny to watch, especially because his monstrous strength always came out when his was extremely angry. Ironically a lot of the funny 'fights' that happened were when both of my fav characters met up, since they can't stand eachother. I'm also watching it dubbed on Adult Swin and I like it alot, I think a lot of the voices are good.
