Tagged under Suzuhito Yasuda, Brains Base, Light Novel, Series.
In Tokyo's downtown district of Ikebukuro, amidst many strange rumors and warnings of anonymous gangs and dangerous
occupants, one urban legend stands out above the rest – the existence of a headless “Black Rider” who is said to
be seen driving a jet-black motorcycle through the city streets.
Ryuugamine Mikado has always longed for
the excitement of the city life, and an invitation from a childhood friend convinces him to move to Tokyo. Witnessing
the Black Rider on his first day in the city, his wishes already seem to have been granted. But as supernatural events
begin to occur, ordinary citizens like himself, along with Ikebukuro's most colorful inhabitants, are mixed up in the
commotion breaking out in their city.

Trying to tell someone precisely what DuRaRaRa is about is kind of like trying to explain to someone what the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is about-it’s next to impossible because of the oddness that goes into it. However, you can describe DuRaRaRa in genres-from slice of life to action to comedy and even romance, there aren’t many genres that DuRaRaRa couldn’t be classified as. Its ability to also blend supernatural and everyday life can draw in fans of all types-male or female-regardless of its presentation as a shounen anime. That said, DuRaRaRa certainly isn’t for everyone.

I enjoyed how different this show was from most anime as far as plot was concerned. My favorite characters were Izaya Orihara; he was mostly smart, calm and calculating. And my other favorite character was Shizuo Heiwajima, his incredible strength was always funny to watch, especially because his monstrous strength always came out when his was extremely angry. Ironically a lot of the funny 'fights' that happened were when both of my fav characters met up, since they can't stand eachother. I'm also watched it dubbed on Adult Swim and I like it alot, I think a lot of the voices were good.
Watched S2 & S3 and there were very tense moments throughout those seasons as well. I like Rokujo!^^ A very entertaining ride.
It was definitely one of the best anime recently done. There wasn't a lot of action in the first episodes but I
couldn't stop watching it. The characters are all great and they are all cool in their way. My fav are Mikado and
Izaya. The symbolize well the show : fun, absolutely good-looking but definitely double-edged. Actually, all the
characters are like that. An other thing that I liked was the way the main characters are fighting against each others
in real life but gently talking together by chat...
Edit: I regretted years ago now that they didn't adapted the other visual novels. That regret was buried by the
latest adaptation, I was as happy as the first time when I watched it and I can't wait to see the rest later this
year (2015)!
Very interesting. I like the way the story is developed, without a single protagonist but with many characters taking
their space (even if many things are just hinted). The first opening is so nice!
IZAYA ORIHARA: "Oh, and just because I like humans it doesn’t mean that I like you personally."
Ikebukuro, Dollars, Dullahans, there is so much that compose this story, I didn't get it at first but I falled in love with the characters and the way the story developed also the bands of the OPs and EDs
Omg This show was epic!!! When ever this show was on I was drawn to it! I loved watching the guy with blonde hair get mad and throw stuff around XD beynd that the show rlly keeps you on it's toes and deff makes u crave for more of it!
This is an awesome anime! U must watch all episodes to understand the stories. At first it feels kinda boring. But when we watch more and more episodes, it becomes interesting. Especially when Izaya, Shizuo, n Celty appear (they are the reason which made me want to watch this). Besides, Saika is cool, too. The stories unpredictable in a good way. ^^ I wish there will be more episodes T.T
This story is so amazing!!
I don't have words for describe this sensation
Enjoy all the openings and endings, I was fascinated by their OST, each chapters was amazing, each character unique.
Only I want see the next season!!
I. LOVE. THIS. ANIME!!!
Really likable characters (my favourites are, not surprisingly, Shizu-chan and Izaya-kun. But I like Celty and Shinra
too XD). Awesome voice-acting (the cast is one of the things that got me watching DRRR in the first place). Wonderful
theme that reflects both the bright and the dark sides of living in a city as well as reminds us that we are actually
more similar to each other than we think because at the end of the day, we all belong to the same group - MANKIND :)
Marks deducted because of the ending. WHAT HAPPENED TO CELTY'S HEAD!!?? I hope there'll be a second season :(
The pace, humour and the medley of erm, interesting characters is what keeps Durarara! alive and kicking. Narita Ryohgo knows how to keep readers entertained indeed and very much in suspense. Got to love the interactions ( Bratty Masaomi/(happily) suffering Mikado/clueless Anri. Hyper Erika+Walker. The weirdness between Mikado and Izaya. Oh Shizuo/Izaya rage. wahaha) and how the nicest voice-acting actually belongs to the headless character lol. What is interesting that despite all the action and showdowns that have occurred so far, one gets the feeling that there is more to come and more to be revealed about the characters... Yeah, coincidences go a bit far even with all the mastermind-ing but still. There's got to be a valid explanation and it can't just be hitsuzen lol. Definitely a great drama to watch.
Oww, it has extremely many characters. And how I already understand every person has a secret and own line but somehow connects with others. The existence of a of the mystical personage is good for me. That intriquids! I also like unusually opening song
Very fun series with an interesting web of characters. Goofy and random, it also manages to be serious and make you like characters you would otherwise hate. They could of done a bit more with the series, but Shinra FTW!
really really really awesome anime for me! :D
it really made me happy to watch, usually when multiple people stories are told they are sometimes not connected but
this anime had it all very connected , i think it is also a slice of life anime, the ice breaking was good too.
I watched this show shortly after Baccano hoping I would get the same amount of action and voice talent, but I didn't. There's just something about Durarara that it doesn't have but Baccano does. I guess because I absolutely loved the show until episode 12, but after that the show pretty much died for me. I was expecting this big blowout of action, but that never really happened. I'm currently re-watching it in english now. I made it to like...episode 11 or something. I probably will stop at 12 though I have seen the extra bonus episodes in english since those weren't subbed on crunchyroll. I do recommend this show to anyone who liked Baccano, it has the same skipping around thing that Baccano had, but it is lacking something...
Its interesting how everyone's lives are mixed and how one effects the other. So far I've really enjoyed watching every episode. I don't have a favorite character yet because I still feel like there is more to everyone that the anime has shown. I'm planning on watch the whole series.
DuRaRaRa!! is a fantastic series, in both the anime, light novels (I've yet to complete) and manga.
Its very unusual and unique, and full of people you'd just wanna hug, or shoot.
Difficult to word due to its current length.
