MapleRose's Full Moon wo Sagashite Tv Review

Rated: 7

Overall it was a cute shoujo series, with a bit of sadness and inspiration. The balance between seriousness, emotional moments, and humour is pretty good. The characters are pretty likable, though they do get annoying at times.

The biggest downside to this series I think is its length. I don't think it needs 52 episodes to tell the story. I think they can get it done in 26 just fine, by cutting out a lot of unneccessary material and focusing on the important stuff. By having it so long, the pace gets pretty slow in the middle (not that it isn't slow to begin with), and a lot of themes get really repetitive.

Also, I don't think the story-telling and the style lived up to its full potential.

Warning contains spoiler.
A sad story near the end, I was sorry that Eichi was dead (poor Mitsuki T_T).
Mizuki is an example of persistence for a dream
I liked that she falls in love with Takuto :D

3 words... Manga Concurs all. The Manga is ten times better ten the anime. The anime is mainly just a sack of filler and a touch of the manga its based off of. And some of the characters were just to cheerful for my liking *cough*Meroko*cough*

songs are great though storyline tend to be predictable. a typical love story. characters are well developed and growth in them maybe observed. seiyuu for mizuki memorable, the others are also pretty good, lifting the overall anime. artworks showed typical girls' manga style. songs throughout the anime used very well, created several climix.

A perfect choice for those that are into romantic comedies and slight dilemma of the protagonist. Personally found the manga much better, which applies to some other series as well, it's definitely one of those older animes that shouldn't be overlooked if your interested in this specific genre.

Full Moon is arguably my favorite manga, but the anime (at least what I've seen) left something to be desired. The story was unnecessarily dumbed down, which caused the story to lose much of what made it so moving. It also doesn't help the only released the first half in the U.S.

Manga > Anime
Manga's ending is better, has a very deep emotion/personalities, and very very beautiful artwork.
Anime: you can actually listen to the songs, and the story itself isn't bad considering it basically follows the manga, but its has more of the "task per episode" type of story/feel.
Suggestion: watch the anime first followed by reading the manga (you'll be disappointed if you read first then watch)

I've grown out of Arina Tanemura's art, but when I read the series I thought it was great back when I was 14 or 15. It's still amazing, great story and lovely art though the style is one that would appeal to a younger audience. Also, while the anime isn't bad, the manga is far better. The anime is a good anime with very nice art but can't compare to the manga as far as story goes.

Simply my most favorite anime EVER. This is one of Arina Takemura's FINEST pieces of manga, and it has transferred very well to anime. All of the characters, lovable. Music, lovable. Simply everything is awesome in this anime. Of course, the art is not top notch, but it still deserves a 10 because of it's beautiful storyline and entrancing sequences of events.

I have to say, the anime was a disappointment for me. I really liked the manga, and I loved the manga ending, so I was excited to watch the anime. It got waay off track and the ending was completely different.
