Twelve-year-old Kouyama Mitsuki was devastated when she was diagnosed with a malignant tumor of the throat. She had made
a promise to the boy she loves that she would one day become a singer, but her illness made singing impossible. To make
matters even worse, two angels of death, Takuto and Meroko, appeared to Mitsuki and informed her that she only had one
year left to live! This news provides an even greater motivation for Mitsuki to fulfill her dreams, and with a little
bit of divine intervention, she begins her quest to become a professional singer so she can be reunited with Eichi
before time runs out.

MapleRose's Full Moon wo Sagashite Tv Review
Rated:
Overall it was a cute shoujo series, with a bit of sadness and inspiration. The balance between seriousness, emotional moments, and humour is pretty good. The characters are pretty likable, though they do get annoying at times.
The biggest downside to this series I think is its length. I don't think it needs 52 episodes to tell the story. I think they can get it done in 26 just fine, by cutting out a lot of unneccessary material and focusing on the important stuff. By having it so long, the pace gets pretty slow in the middle (not that it isn't slow to begin with), and a lot of themes get really repetitive.
Also, I don't think the story-telling and the style lived up to its full potential.

3 words... Manga Concurs all. The Manga is ten times better ten the anime. The anime is mainly just a sack of filler and a touch of the manga its based off of. And some of the characters were just to cheerful for my liking *cough*Meroko*cough*
ghost945 rated 8.75:songs are great though storyline tend to be predictable. a typical love story. characters are well developed and growth in them maybe observed. seiyuu for mizuki memorable, the others are also pretty good, lifting the overall anime. artworks showed typical girls' manga style. songs throughout the anime used very well, created several climix.
ForbiddenRedEye rated 10.00:A perfect choice for those that are into romantic comedies and slight dilemma of the protagonist. Personally found the manga much better, which applies to some other series as well, it's definitely one of those older animes that shouldn't be overlooked if your interested in this specific genre.
SnickerdoodleNinja rated 6.00:Full Moon is arguably my favorite manga, but the anime (at least what I've seen) left something to be desired. The story was unnecessarily dumbed down, which caused the story to lose much of what made it so moving. It also doesn't help the only released the first half in the U.S.

Manga > Anime
Manga's ending is better, has a very deep emotion/personalities, and very very beautiful artwork.
Anime: you can actually listen to the songs, and the story itself isn't bad considering it basically follows the manga,
but its has more of the "task per episode" type of story/feel.
Suggestion: watch the anime first followed by reading the manga (you'll be disappointed if you read first then watch)
