On the day of the high school entrance exam, Fuuko's shoe tears and
the wind carries her tester's permit away. Desperate, she chases after it but gives up when it lands in the middle of
the road. Just then, a boy zooms past her and grabs her permit, almost being run over by an approaching car. Not only
that, but the boy also gives Fuuko one of his shoelaces so she can fix her own shoe temporarily! Fuuko falls for him
then and there and promises to look for him in spring.
When the first day of high school arrives, Fuuko's
new classmates tease her about her very curly hair and she runs off to wash her face. After a short pep talk with
herself, Fuuko accidentally hits none other than her crush in the face! She runs away, but he chases after her and
convinces her to join the school track and field team; this marks the start of a new life for Fuuko, with a grueling
training regimen, making new friends and getting Kourin to like her
back!
