I absolutely love this anime! Its my favourite so far (and I've watched A LOT). I love how its also educational too<3 I've watched all of it and has re-watched it multiple times too... (I have no life) But, I think its a very good anime, and very creative. If you don't like the art it gets better in the last season. I think its really funny too. Love the character designs and personalities. Its VERY stereotypical which is also funny, as long as you're not a very sad person who takes it as an insult..... It also made me interested in history too ^^ (whenever I read the name of countries, I visualize them as the anime character....XD) Overall, this anime is amazing, I definitely recommend it <3
A good anime which tell us the WW II with humor.
Each country has a character wich correspond to its culture. Ex : Francee with blond hair and a rose [No, we're not
all like that in our country >.<]
It's good to revise our History lessons ;3
First, just one thing: PASTAAAAAAA! Anyways, this show has a ton of charm to it for being so unique. While it's very politically incorrect, it doesn't come across as hateful. Some of the gags get a little old (and the language can be pretty strong!) but overall the characters and short and sweet nature of the show are a real treat.
There are so many characters that at first it's a bit hard to recognise all of them. But soon... I can even
remember all the countries' human names XDD
Very original and creative idea to personify countries and reflect their relations with each other through the
characters' interaction.
The most successful thing about Hetalia is that the author managed to point out both the good and the bad things of
every country humorously without being judgmental. A bit stereotypical, maybe, but that's what makes it so
hilarious.
My favourite character is of course my mother country CHINA :)
I also like Hungary and Switzerland (a bit unusual). Hungary is soooo badass with her frying pan of doom and the fact
that she didn't know she was a girl when she was little was just so funny! Hungary-Prussia moments are really
cute~~ As for Switzerland, I guess I like him because he reminds me of Lelouch in Code Geass. Both of them are big
brothers who are super protective over their little sisters XD His tsundere and trigger-happy personality is cute too :D
It's not really an historical anime, it's a parody of World War II with personified nations. If you don't
know the story of the war you won't understand well the events that, plus, are not in chronological order.
Despite the flaws in the plot, it's quite enjoyable. The story, after all, it's not the most important thing:
this anime is based on its humour and, indeed, it's funny to see all the stereotypes about countries in the
world.
ROMANO: "Che palle! Don't play dumb with me, that's my brother's job!"
5 minute episodes of lolz and satire featuring anthropomorphic personifications of countries through out history. Quite a good lesson for European geography actually, I never knew where the Holy Roman Empire was, and Prussia. XD
This anime just didn't work with me because of the several things and also the lack of episodes. But after I do get back I think that I will find it more interesting. Don't like several introductions of fanservice and light yaoi elements, sometimes not understandable jokes, letters and texts written all over making it hard to focus on the show... but other than that it was a pretty good comedy~! If you are looking for short, relaxing ONA episodes, and if you are a girl next to that, then these ones are for you. If not... then you can try it still or something else.
This is probably one of the oddest shows you will ever see. I first watched it subbed a couple years back, and I didn't like it much. I don't know if it was the subbers or something, but I just hated the jokes. But when I found out that Funimation was dubbing it, I had to know who the cast was. XD I was almost correct in every assumption I made, which was awesome. I wasn't expecting Ian Sinclair to be Romano, but it was amazing! He did a really good job, and Romano is awesome to begin with. The jokes that Funimation put in were a lot more understandable, and I loved the accents in the cast. ^^ A great thing about this show is that even though it's 52 episodes, the actual episodes are about 5 minutes each. When I'm just sitting at home and doing stuff on the computer, I like to pop in Hetalia and just let it play while I multitask. This is a really great show, and I really like it.
Love this show! It's so crack-tastic and (somewhat) informative! Italy makes me want to pinch his cheeks... Love the overall concept. I do wonder about the longevity of the anime as the antics can get a little annoying after awhile. I can see that this totally works as a comic though.
I don't understand my friend and her friendS! I don't really thing that this anime is more funny than Ouran high school host club, or another more funny anime! ok, I think is a good idea that the charas are state of the world, but the story? nothing, the anime is short too :/ the on this anime is the graphic, nothing else. :( maybe I am too old too understand the joke of this anime????
Love the concept and humor. Can be more or less funny, but if someone know the politician situations and stereotypes about our countries, theres nothing more enjoyable^_^ Since it has only view minutes per episode you can watch durning lunch time for example^_^ Many people started to watch cause of my recommendation, its really a lot funniest when you watch with someone and comment^_^
Funniest, cutest, and most creative anime ever! I serisouly, IT IS ONE OF A KIND. If only the episodes weren't so short! If each episode was 24 min. it'd probably be a regular 24 ep anime but since each ep is only 5 min. it went all the way to 100 episodes! Took forever! The art is good and the characters are so cute. Whoever made the series must have really studied history and I admire someone like that. I also learned quite a bit about different countries from it, haha. GermanyxItaly FTW! <3
I saw scans and pics of this anime everywhere so after a long time I really got curious what's all about. I started watching this anime and I'm so glad I did. The show is "cracktastic" and full of epicness and won me over immediately. It narrates history but in a very different, funny and appealing way so no wonder it has so many fans. The only let down of this show is the lenght of the episodes which are way too short in my opinion.
I've never thought i would like so much an anime which plot's about World War I and II. It's simply funny. The Italian-Germany duo is awsome... and the Japan sardonic humor is the best ever! XD
France is just a womanizer and Russia is so... dangerous or it seems ^^.
At first, i thought that maybe in this anime there will be plenty of "ikemen" but... well, they are but not as expected.
And the stories about chibi Italy are really cute.
It's a good anime if you want to laugh a lot.
Wicked cute!! I love the history that is also included in this series. History is one of my favorite subjects in school so when i started watching this is enjoyed it a lot. I love the chibi's in this too. They are just to cute. ^^
