Shoujoboy's Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Tv Review

Higurashi continues to have it all. There's plot twists galore. You'll be sure you have finger on the facts only to have the rug pulled right out from underneath you. There are characters that are fun to watch when they are friendly and chipper and even when they go completely insane. There's music that makes the hair stand up on whatever orifice you have hair on (which in Jak's case is probably his back, his ears and the palms of his hands). It's got everything that still convinces me anime may have the best entertainment value for my money. Oh, and it gave me my new most hated character in anime. Poor Shinji, I've hated you for so long... and now your position has been usurped by Miyo.
It's evident by my reviews of season 1 and 2 that I absolutely adore this show.

About the first season:
Sure it can be confusing.. a lot. You have more questions all the time than you get answers... acually there are no
answers for some time. We see alternative versions of one story (if you already get it, that they are alternate
versions), but we can find out a bit of the truth in each. They are all real, some things just have to happen, but some
are mutually exclusive, paradox is created. You don't know what to believe. Well, its amazing how some nonsenses are
actually explained afterwards (spoiler alert-... the version where Mion is the killer, its a total nonsense in the end
when Kei is in the hospital, but it the Shion arc it makes a perfect sense! amazing!). Its like playing Heavy Rain or
some rpg that have many endings to get, you found out new things with each one, but can't say which one is true... but I
really like the concept. its intriguing.
Well some things still have to wait to be explained anyway. Overall you must have some nerve to watch it, theres a lot
of gore, hardcore scenes, ya know... but I like it, now I'm watching Kai and looks like we will have all the answers we
want!
And I love Keichi's seiyuu! the same that Sanada Yukimura has in Sengoku Basara, you can feel the fighting spirit in
this voice hahah XD
Ok, after finishing Kai I get all the answers and all makes perfect sense and is well ended^^ wonder if I didn't like
the first season more, cause of all the gore, psychic games and madness... well I can call the S1 "questions"
while S2 stands for "answers"^_^
Rei is alright too, nice additional eps.
The most thriller Anime in all my life, the story is so well planned and the suspense, oh my god the suspense that each arc cause me. Everytime I watch a chapter of Higurashi I'm so excited to see what happens with the characters I can stop loving this serie it's just too perfect
Tengaijin rated 8.25:Most of the people who I've met say that this series is messed up. However, I found the plot to be very clever. It's a series that belongs in the mystery genre. It contains various scenarios and storylines that make you think. There is some gore here and there. But beyond that, I found it to be very entertaining.
duhqueenmoki rated 7.00:I find it disgusting that the series makes a game of death. People say it's about friendship and trust but I really just think that's a sorry excuse to fake a plot. I mean, come on, what was the point of the whole anime? The art was weird and crappy. The characters were all what I like to say "over-filtered" (stuffed with too many qualities) and the plot was just... ew. I know it appeals to A LOT of people and some people like the gore, think the art portrays the gruesome tale, yeah whatever, it was a crappy series in my opinion, a sorry excuse for a mystery. There wasn't enough REAL psychology in it, just a load of pseudopsychology and unexplained things. Second season wasn't any better it just tried to justify the crappiness of the first season.
Ohara555666 rated 9.00:
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (as well as its sequel, Kai) is without question the greatest horror/mystery series I've ever
seen - not just out of the anime I've seen, but in general, too.
The elements of horror, mystery and slapstick comedy are used and executed masterfully, as is the frequent moving in and
out of each of them; the characters, from the innocent and charming to the yandere and psychotic, are some of the most
memorable in a show I've seen to date; the storyline that extends through and to the end of the second season is one of
the most interesting and well thought out pieces of writing I know of; and the general tense, mysterious atmosphere
present throughout a large portion of the series is enough to put a crap-ton of icing and a million dollar bill on top
of the proverbial cake.
Being a true, largely unrelenting horror series, it certainly has its fair share of brutal, blood-splattered violence
and torture scenes - for the squeamish and those with weak stomachs, you could try settling for the censored version or,
regrettably, will probably have to give it a miss.
The biggest criticism I have for this series is the animation quality. Compared to most other anime, DEEN's low-budget
efforts here are, for the most part, visually awful. Don't get the wrong idea, though - unless you determine an anime's
brilliance based purely on how aesthetically pleasing it is, the quality alone isn't (or, at least, shouldn't be) nearly
enough to bring about unsatisfaction or overall dislike - actually, after a couple of watches through, I can't really
help but find its low-budget feel rather charming.
If you're a fan of the genre, there's really no plausible reason of which I am aware for you to not end up being a fan
of this series, too.
