Truly a sweet, yet sad story of the characters Gin and Hotaru of their close friendship that grows into love yet unable to express their affection through touching one another. What they have together is beautiful and endearing, their love is so heartwarming that it's so melancholic when they can not be together physically. The anime itself is an enchanting tale which is good for families to see.
You got lost then suddenly you met this cool mysterious boy who seemed nice. Who wouldn't want a romance like that. Personally even if the story seemed cliche it doesn't matter at all. The ambiance and longing for something you already know wouldn't happen makes is what made it so appealing.
I saw the name for this anime on an online site showing their list of anime movies. I downloaded it and immediately
started watching it. It's such a beautiful story about spirits and love. I cried my eyes out at the end ... just
then my boyfriend walked into my room and he almost had a heart attack (≧∇≦)/ Thought he did something wrong.
Don't avoid the movie because people cried, for exactly that reason must you watch it. For an animated movie to be
able to invoke an emotion as strong as sadness in people thru a picture, music and facial expressions of the characters,
makes it just that much more awesome.
Aaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwww DDD':!!! Such a delightful and sad storyyyyy! It just an OVA that lasts only 45 minutes, and yet, its content is far more valuable and meaningful than series of a zillion chapters. I resented a little the strucks with the stick... but that putted aside, everything was just adorable: the ambiance, the first-person narrating, the development of the relationship... That's what I call love, dammit! T^T The end is so full of poetry and hope... I cried my eyes out with sadness and joy at the same time TT___TT
I first encounter this series when I got my hands on Yuki Midorikawa's 'Hotarubi no Mori e' one-shot last
year. I absolutely love it, it's so beautiful, serene and so romantic. I even cried a little when I finished the
book. And I decided to give the animation a try. It made me cry as well. ;A;
Personally, I like the book better, since I really like Midorikawa's sketchy-like drawing.
Mmm, I have been waiting to watch this! Instantly recognized its the same author as Natsume Yuujin Chou^_^ really enjoyed this about 40 minutes long show adopted from a a one-shot. Expecting it will be sad (and it was), but more than that... I have the feeling it was beautiful^_^
