A young girl named Kagome Higurashi who's on her way to school goes to the well in her family's property. She was about to get her cat from the area because no one was supposed to go there she found a demon in the well instead. Taking Kagome back in time to the Feudral era of Japan. Once she heads to a village the people proved that she's the reincarnation of the powerful priestess Kikyo.
The villagers also believed that she had the powerful Shikon jewel inside her body that can grant you anything you want.

Before when Kikyo was alive, she sealed a dangerous half demon Inuyasha to a tree with one of her magical arrows. Kagome loses the Shikon jewel and awakes Inuyasha to help her recover it.

When they do get it back however, Kagome shatters it when it is taken again thus sending it far and wide. The series tells us how Inuyasha and Kagome search for it and meet new people along the way.

AnimeBubble's Inuyasha Tv Review

Rated: 8

I think with everything else reviewed, I gave out a pretty good idea on what I think about the presentation and show, in general. So just to sum it up:
-The show is enjoyable, but the long arcs and fillers can get tiring- it becomes a must-see when it follows well the manga storylines and gets to the serious stuff. The romance is to die for- You'll find yourself debating ships without realizing it.
-The concept of the story is well put, even if sometimes you kind of forget what's it really about due the laid-back-ness that some breather episodes tend to have.
-The humor is okay- not to burst out laughing, not to stay there with a blank face. The comedid timing is pretty good, even if it's repetitive.

It's a thrilling story, certainly! However, there are some parts that I don't like at all, of which I'll mention just the main one: if there's something I hate is the comparison between different people; for me it's just an awful and cruel offense to be seen and loved because you "resamble" someone else from the past. I pitied Kagome all the time for this fact and I always thought: "C'mon, you dog! Grow a pair and admit what you feel!" That's why I preferred the wolf dude.

quite a lengthy series at 170 episodes with filler material and somewhat repetative battles/situations in amongst it. Despite this, it's a great series which i can't stop watching. am watching it nightly with my son and he's also enjoying it (trying my best to expose him to decent 'cartoons' early to avoid the rubbish most kids are obsessed with these days :P)

orange-lisa rated 5.25:

Too long and annoying... The story is quite repetitive, most of the episodes seem to be the same, always following the same events. It's also boring always have to deal with the same enemy. I don't particularly like the characters, especially Kagome: she's childish, petulant and always plays the victim and despite her bad character everyone depict her as a saint. And Inuyasha that never react! Many characters are just stereotypes: the bad guy, the cynical one, the perverted one. Even the humor in the long run doesn't make you laugh anymore. I also don't like the complications in the story, probably introduced to make it more interesting, but they just confuse and create contradictions.

INUYASHA: "Don't you faint on me, you stupid girl!"

This was one of my favourites in my childhood. The story is so cute and he is so sexy. I love him. There are so many things that make it a great story. If you didn't watch it yet, you should. It's great!

One of the anime that got me INTO anime- but damn, this one takes too long to finish. It's a good anime, but it only has a 6.75 because of length and predictability. To put it nicely, "GOD DAMN, THIS ANIME IS LONG!" The first episodes are the real gem, but after about 200+ episodes, you begin to wonder when the hell they will collect all of the Jewel Shards, when Kagome and Inuyasha will finally admit their feelings, and when Naraku will finally die. Naraku's my favorite character, but after episode 200 I was ready to kill Naraku myself - anything in order to put an end to this damned series. That flaw aside, the character designs are great especially Sesshomaru, which would explain his legions of hormonal fangirls (and I won't delude myself by saying that I'm not one of them)- and the characters themselves are interesting to watch - even if they lack excellent characterization. Kagura and Sesshomaru were my favorites because of their superior characterization, but the other cast fell flat. Still, would I recommend this? Possibly. The series finally ended, but overall, you're in for a long, repetitive ride if you start watching.
