Iron Maiden Theme
Tagged under Restrained.
The iron maiden is presumed to have been a torture device used in the Middle Ages. However, it is yet unclear whether
iron maidens actually existed, or the objects that are currently displayed in museums were pieced together only for
entertainment purposes. It is heavily assumed that iron maidens were never used for torture.
An iron
maiden is a coffin-shaped object made out of metal, tall and wide enough to fit one person. The interior is full of
sharp spikes. The person trapped inside would have enough room to stand, but couldn't move around or sit down without
pricking themselves on the spikes. Occasionally, the face of the iron maiden would be forged to imitate that of Mary,
the mother of Jesus.
