Junko is Madoka and Tatsuya's mother. While her husband stays home to take care of the house and raise the kids, Junko is a successful businesswoman who can be very motivated when she sets her mind on something. In one of the later episodes, Junko shares a drink with Kazuko Saotome, Madoka's teacher, and it is implied that they are old friends. Junko and Madoka have a very close relationship, with Madoka often asking her mother for life advice.
