Kanzashi (簪) are hair ornaments used in traditional Japanese hairstyles; nowadays, they are popularly used by maiko (geisha-in-training). They were first used in Japan during the Jomon period.

Some of the most popular kanzashi are hair combs (kushi), hair sticks, and folded cloth flowers (tsumami kanzashi).

Not to be confused with fascinators or headdresses.
