Kappa are legendary creatures from Japanese folklore generally seen as mischevious troublemakers. Usually depicted as
humanoid, they are about the size of a child, green and scaly with webbed feet and hands. Their most notable feature is
the "plate" on their head believed to be the source of their powers.
While Kappa are mostly thought of as
innocent pranksters, they are occasionally depicted as river monsters blamed for drownings and ravishing women.
