Kamuinoyume's Kuroshitsuji Tv Review

Rated: 8

A rather original anime seeing as we live in the 20th centuries and most of the tings have already been done before.

My advice to you is: if you enjoy dark anime with a somewhat comedic tone who don't shy away from obscene themes such as child abuse, murder and the like, you'll enjoy this anime.

If you're a shouneni ai phobe you won't like this anime, same goes for religious people.

I love the manga and the first season of the anime series. The 2nd season diverted from the manga and the story writers wrote their own version and it was weird... I didn't like it much.

The rating is only for the manga and the first season of the anime.

Both the manga & anime are Awsome!
BUT:
Though the 2nd season was kinda nerving with Alois Trancy and the ending! - This wasn't even in the manga!
And now they are animating all important Manga events!

I LOVE Kuroshitsuji as a manga but the anime failed to capture the Kuro characters completely (or at all). It just...failed. The added characters were unnecessary and disturbing. As I watched the anime unfold, it was like watching a bad horror movie where you know the plot all too well and you know how messed up and a big let down it'll be in the end (because you've seen other directors do the same plot ten times better). The voices though, I found to be SPOT ON. The colors were lovely and seeing the Kuroshitsuji cast in full color was worth its mishaps. But seriously...go read the manga. Much better!

Black comedy -- I guess this is what I would call or categorize this series. Kuroshitsuji is just plain devil. With a very cool and cunning Sebastian and a rude but calculating Ciel, I definitely couldn't ask more for this combo. The art, plot, soundtrack, design and characters are really well done. When I heard that there had been a season 2, I told myself that I should check it out... but yes, I didn't like it. I am planning to read the manga so that I can see more of my favorite Ciel <3

I am TOTALLY in love with this series & have seen both seasons & the six OVAs as well as.both musicals! I just wish the anime would have followed the manga a lot more. My favorite characters are Undertaker, Sebastian Michaelis, Grell Sutcliff.

Love it so much. It is very addicting. Everything is so beautiful in it, especially the outfits, Ciel, & Sebastian. It is a truly great anime to watch & the manga is so amazing. The musicals to it is so wonderful to watch. I can never get enough of it. I have it on repeat. As soon as I am done watching both seasons & OVAs, I watch it over & over again. I can never stop watching, reading, & cosplaying Kuroshitsuji. I always cosplay Ciel, both human & demon versions of him. I hope to cosplay Sebastian one day. He is simply one hell of a butler. ^^V

I would give 10 for the MANGA! I really like this series, I think it will always be. Though I prefer the manga, I still love the anime. There are so many things I like about Kuroshitsuji; the dark and gothic atmosphere, Victorian era, it also has wonderful characters, amazing opening and ending themes, awesome and unique story line (the idea of selling your soul to a demon and making him a butler is just so unique), very beautiful and amazingly detailed art (the clothing, backgrounds, faces), beautiful animation and settings. I just looove it so much.

i will give my rating for only season 1, i didn't like season 2 at all, it's like it ruin everything season one has to talk about, i like the story and the characters, and the anime has a very unique art, the ending was expected, i liked the anime because of the characters only didn't like the story events it's like it running too fast, any way i enjoyed watching it (i don't mean season 2 because i regret watching it, it was only a waste of my time).

A bit disappointed with the anime adaptation. I did finish the first season (with difficulty) but did not survive the second one. Somehow the anime is just ordinary and did not really hold my interest like the manga did.

The first season is alright. It isn't as nearly amazing as the manga is, and they throw Grell in too often. I don't mind him, but his zany antics became over the top instead of being... mostly amusing as they are in the manga. The second season is no where near as good. It almost feels like a separate show. If I didn't know better, then I would think that the writers thought something along these lines, "OH let's add another tragic young boy, but make him even MORE tragic and depressing, people seem to like it so we'll keep it. We found there ARE men watching, so let's add a woman and at every possible opportunity, let's rip off her clothes ONLY at the breasts, and have men do highly suggestive or all out sexual things to her for no reason at all except BIG BEWBIES EQUALS ABUSE!" Sad. If they redo this series after the manga ends then follows it a lot more closely, it would be a 9.5.

The show had so much potential - nice animation, good music, good voice actors and then it all went downhill when they steered away from the original plot/story and created their own version. Why oh why do you do that, people? ;_;

I kinda dropped it after episode 9. Maybe I'll come back to it one day just to finish it and see how much they killed it. =_=

This is how I imagine a good anime. I'm addiced to demons and gothics so this series was totally my cup of tea. An interesting story with a slowly untangling plot and probably the best ending I could imagine for it. A skilled, sexy demon perfect at everything he does surely counts as a huuge plus, too. I liked almost all of the characters except for Alois and Claude from the second season - they were both weird and annoying, and Alois seemed quite mentally unstable to me. The anime is full of both tension and fun so the show doesn't lose anything of it's dark appeal but at the same time, all the negative parts like murders or intrigue aren't too depressive. The soundtrack was awesome as well.

Kuroshitsuji is by far the best anime I've seen so far. Both the English and the Japanese dubs are great. I've watched the entire series and the story is great and it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen next. The characters and their personalities are amazing as well and I love Ciel and Sebastian. I watch this anime all the time on DVD even though I've seen it a million times. It never gets old but I do wish there was a season three. ^^;

So far I am liking it. However I am confused, because on forums I am hearing people say that this is not for people who can't stand fan service... I have yet to see any but hey I'm not complaining one bit I'm just a little lost.

I've basically just watched the first season of Kuroshitsuji aka Black Butler. I honestly loved it! Its hilarious but it has its moments when you feel sympathy for the characters. I'm planning on watching the second season regardless of what people have said about it.
