Lovers in the Night Series

Young Claude Gilbert is saved from a life of prostitution by a servant
of a nobleman, and hired as said nobleman's servant. At this house, he learns to read and write and adopts the manners
of the French aristocracy. Following the illness and death of his wife, the nobleman falls ill as well and dies shortly
after. His son, Antoine, is now a young adult, but his cheeky attitude often
gets the best of him. After the house almost goes bankrupt and all the servants leave, Claude alone is forced to deal
with Antoine...and especially with that temper of his.
Note: there's a short story related to this main
story, "A Butler's Proper Place", included in "Hontoni, Yasashii".

Cute and interesting - two adjectives I hate to use, but there's really no other way to describe this -, though it
seems that almost all of Fumi Yoshinaga's mangas take place around the same time period (18th century). The art is
good and clean: the characters are attractive and pleasant to look at, albeit a bit bland sometimes. I have a soft spot
for the chibi faces, on the other hand, they're very expressive!
Recommended to those who like romance in their yaoi: cute couple interactions and hot sex scenes!
