One of the older dragon siblings (10 in total) of the Babylonian myth that tells of the creation of the world. He was
imprisoned by the god Marduk centuries ago, after a battle in which the dragons and their mother, the goddess Tiamat,
were defeated and (presumably) eradicated.
Rakamu's real form is that of a dragon, and he is seen with a
dragon-like tail while held captive in the cave. His bindings consist of a magical type of rope that he cannot untie
himself, made with the power of fire (which cause him great pain, Rakamu being a water dragon).
He forms an
unlikely bond with the blind monk Maruu, who comes across him by accident while
returning home after a storm.
Rakamu also appears briefly in Yami ni Tooboe Mune ni Toge, along with more of his siblings.
