NovaProspekt's Read Or Die Tv Review

Rated: 10

This series is all about "cool." The sets, the characters, and the plot all have this great feel to them. The universe this takes place in is pretty close to our own, next to the superpowers. There's just this stylized "I'm-so-cool" feel about it. The art overall matches the mood of the moment, with the colors, characters, sound and "camera" all properly taken advantage of and used to their fullest extent. The action scenes truly shine, but even the dramatic scenes carry the emotion of the story in a very exact manner.
As far as content and viewing age; Geneon gives it a "13 and up" rating, but I would say 16 and up. There are a few intense scenes with violence and blood, and one nudity scene that is put in there just matter-of-factly. It's not sexual, not raunchy, but it is there.

I really like this anime especially their ability to do almost everything with paper, is just awesome makes me wish I had their ability, the movie R.O.D. Read Or Die was also really good as it explained all their past connections. I really enjoyed this anime.

I absolutely love it, fighting with paper idea was really unique and that's the main reason why I got hooked on this series. The fighting scene are incredible, and above all, I adore Anita the most. ^^ oh, and Junior. XD
After I finished watching the series, I have always wish to have the paper powaa. XD R.O.D did that much to me. And it still one of my favorite anime after all this years..

This series was a bit of a confusing one. The story was a very interesting one based on books and reading - but it seemed to plod along until the end, and left me wanting something that it did not deliver. Don't get me wrong, it was not a bad story... but it left me perplexed and unsatisfied.

Only saw the OVA, but it was great. Loved the characters and the storyline... I've read up somewhat on the regular series and it doesn't seem like something I'd be interested in. I read some of the manga as well and it was waaaaaay different from the OVA. Much more ecchi than I would have liked.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I wasn't sure what to expect when I started watching it but after about 15 mins or so into the first episode I had my undivided attention. The storyline was very original with a unique twist and not many anime's have that anymore. It also held some of the most fluid and well drawn animations that I've seen in a "long" time. Over all solid from start to finish & the ending was just icing on the cake. XD
