SDN48 J-Pop Idol
Tagged under Group, Waifu, Japanese Entertainers.
Sister group of AKB48, SKE48, NMB48, HKT48, JKT48, TPE48 and SNH48.
SDN48 was founded as a more adult-oriented alternative to the
mother group, AKB48; thus, their shows were restricted to legally adult audience
members. In 2010, discussion began on eliminating this restriction, but SDN48 shows remained adult-only until the
group's official dissolution in 2012, when all its members graduated. While there is no talk of reuniting the group,
seven of its former members formed another group of their own, 7cm, which also ended up disbanding in 2014.
Several members of SDN48 were brought in from other sister groups, including Megumi Ohori and Kayo Noro (both from AKB48), and Eiko Maeda / Machiko Yezuka (from SKE48).
