SHINee is a five member South Korean Boy Band. Formed by SM Entertainment. SHINee debuted with their song Noona Neomu
Yeppeo (Replay). The group is consists of Onew (Lee Jin Ki), Jonghyun (Kim Jong Hyun), Key (Kim Ki Bum), Minho (Choi Min
Ho) and Taemin (Lee Tae Min). They released songs mostly under the genre of Contemporary and R&B.
The group released their first mini-album on May 23, 2008 from their label company SM Entertainment. Their mini-album debuted at #10 on the Korean Music Charts and it's peaked at #8, by the first half of 2008 the mini-album has sold over 17,975 copies.
SHINee released their first full-length album on August 28, 2008. The album debuted at #3 selling more than 30,000 copies. On November 15, 2008 the group won the Best Male Rookie award at the 10th Annual M.Net's Music Festival.
On May 21, 2009 four days before their one year anniversary SM Entertainment announced that the group will released a new mini-album titled Romeo and on May 18, 2009 the first single Juliette was released the song was an instrumental remake of Corbin Bleu's 'Deal with it'.
On October 19, 2009 the group released their 3rd mini-album 2009, Year of Us five months after the released of their 2nd mini-album Romeo. The lead single 'Ring Ding Dong' was released digitally on October 14, 2009.
On December 2009, SHINee won the 'Popularity' award along with their label mate Super Junior at the 24th Golden Disk Awards. In February 2010, the group won their first Bonsang Award at the 19th Seoul Music Awards.
2nd half of the year 2010 SM Entertainment announced that SHINee will have a comeback with a full second album on July. The second full length album Lucifer was released July 19, 2010 in South Korea. Due to the success of their 2nd album SM Entertainment released a repackaged version which includes 3 new tracks. The promotional single for their repackaged album 'Hello' was released on October 4, 2010.
On December 26, 2010, SHINee held their first concert SHINee World in Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo, Japan.
SHINee announced that on March 2011 they will be releasing their first Japanese album under their Japanese Label EMI Music Japan.
Unlike their other labelmates who were signed at AVEX JAPAN - Rhythm Zone only SHINee and Girls Generation has different Japanese Labels.
