Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the famous Onmyouji Abe no Seimei; a fact he is constantly reminded of. When Masahiro was
young, he had a second sight, the ability to see ghost, spirits and demons. He believed he had lost the ability, later
realizing that his grandfather had sealed his power.
One day, he meets a mononoke who refuses to tell Masahiro
his name, so Masahiro names him "Mokkun". He soon learns the mononoke's true name is Touda, and that he was one of his grandfather’s twelve shikigami.
Soon after meeting him,
Mokkun breaks the seal on Masahiro's second sight.
Masahiro then sets out to prove he’s more than just Abe no
Seimei’s grandson and to become the greatest Onmyouji, even better than his grandfather.

Overall, this is a show that sneaks up on you. You'll try to write it off as a simple action show, a mediocre product destined to fade into the woodwork. However, once you start watching, you end up enjoying it more than you thought. By the end, you'll wish there were more episodes.
I think this show is one of the more underrated anime series out there today. It's fun to watch, has great character development, some decent action, and a conclusion that gets you emotionally involved. If you're sick of the same old same old, this show is a light and welcome change.
For being a unique hybrid of action and shoujo sensibilities that's enjoyable, the presentation gets an 8.

This series I think was the longest ever to complete watching due to it being licensed and not subbed for viewing on stream sites. But in the end i was finally successful in finishing it (over a year in the making), and though it may not be outstanding compared to other anime out there, it was worth it all in the end.
A really exellent series. It combines the action side very well with the emotional level. The story is not as simple as you might think to begin with. It's at the same time happy but very tragic. I truly loved it more the more I watched from it. You will surely feel symphatetic to Masahiro at the end. I wished there were more. The novels, which the series is based of, continue after where the anime left us. I think this show is really underrated and I'm delighted to have found and fell in love with it. Recommend!
An anime what I really love, and who inspired me a lot when I start to draw.
Characters are good and charismatics ! <3 (And artworks are amazings ! *w*) The OST is enought good too.
But I don't very like the end, it's sad... I don't like sad end ! XD
Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the great onmy?ji, Abe no Seimei. Seimei, who passed his teachings on to his
grandson, Masahiro who has lost his sixth sense and the ability to see spirits. Masahiro constantly feels resentful for
being in his grandfather's shadow.Even so, one day, Masahiro meets a fox-like creature which he names Mokkun who
shows him his true potential powers after fighting a demon. Masahiro's dream to surpass his grandfather may not be
realised easily as not only does he have to convince the other Shinsh? that he is Seimei's true successor, he must
also increase his power in order to stop demons coming from China, the other parts of Japan and the Underworld as well
as rival onmy?ji's who want to destroy Japan. He also has to keep his promise to protect Princess Akiko of the
Fujiwara clan.
This anime is full of kindness, love, buttles, friendship, funny and serious moments. I like it very much! ^^
