This is a very original mecha, one of the few where I litteraly like the mech itself. Chamber, you're the best.
I like the fact that the TV show didn't turn around war but, instead, around peace. An original subject for a mecha
where war is usually the core of the serie and peace, a far away dream. Here, we followed Red (or Ledo if you prefer), a
yougster who lived in space and whose only purpose in life is to fight until he drop dead or until he is old enough to
have babies. But everything changed when he (accidentally) landed on Earth and discovered a peaceful civilisation. I
really like to see him learn to live like a true human being. The show turn out to be mode a slice of life than a real
mecha but I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. Probably one of my favorites shows even if there is some plots
holes here and there.
/anime/ This was ultimately a disappointment that was saved from complete unworthiness by its great beginning and nice ending. It's middle bits were a huge dip in quality, and the pacing was all over the place. Wish Urobochi could've scripted the entire thing.
Wonderful animation, interesting characters and a plot that digs a bit deeper than just scratching the surface of the mecha and sci-fi genre. It actually makes you face the value and worth of humanity, think about what makes us humans and what it takes to learn how to live in a world so void of anything you've been used to without coming off as pretentious, preaching and mind boggling.
Truly a refreshing series of this anime season and worth the watch. Recommended if you like something more than just action fights, giant robots and fanservice.
