Kantarou Ichinomiya is folklorist and part-time youkai exterminator. When Kantarou Ichinomiya was young he had been teased and tormented as he could see and communicate with youkai of all kinds. If possible he prefers to make friends with youkai rather than destroy them. When he was young he was told there was a powerful demon eating Goblin locked away somewhere. Kantaro made it his mission to find this goblin and he would name him Haruka. Years later he gets that chance. He finally finds and frees the famed demon eating goblin.

Tactics is kind of like...it's the mutant child of Kyou Kara Maou and Natsume Yuujinchou . XD; The characters in Tactics are a bit more type-written (read: brooding, kind-hearted, non-human bishonen with a dark, past, and diminished abilities, a powerful, talented, money-loving protagonist with obfuscating stupidity problems, a quiet, doll-like little psychic girl, etc.) than in either of the aforementioned series, but not in a bad way. It's more nostalgic than chafing. '__'; The animation wobbles between dodgy & lovely, and the music, as a whole, is rather adorable.
Actually, come to, it has a really similar feel to Rurouni Kenshin. 0__o; Except, Kenshin's old enough that its characters weren't stock!tacular when it was written. *laughs*
In short, the series is fun. Nothing deep and beautiful, easily liked and definitely worth a watch. Especially for fans of Japanese folklore. X3

Story of a spiritualist/author who frees a goblin from its prison. Follows their story together, and the fox demon who serves the main character, has a few funny parts and some depressing ones as well.
