Touma Kamijou is a student in Academy City with seemingly no luck at
all; one day he meets a strange girl dressed in a nun outfit named Index. His encounter with her leads him to meet many
other people all with strange powers of their own. Now Touma is out to solve my mysteries behind Index and the city
itself.

Toaru Majutsu no Index is one of those shows that completely caught me off guard. I deeply regretted not giving it a full view the first time I watched it. The first season has probably one of the strongest plot progressions I've seen in quite some time. Strong characters, a continually interesting storyline, well done animation and a great soundtrack, it's no wonder I've viewed this show three times. The worst part is I get more addicted to it each time I view it.
If you don't mind lengthy dialogue, some generic story elements here and there, and a bit of fan service here and there, Toaru season 1 will easily fit the bill. It's just such a shame that the second season seems even worse after my re-viewing of Toaru Majutsu no Index season 1.

I only have a little left to go in the first season, fantastic anime. It has brought laughs, tears, and everything in between. This is one of those animes where you will guessing constantly what the next step is. Recommend to watch!
in a world when magic and Esper powers exists, so many troubles happen because of that, the magicians fight the Espers
and the professors try to invent level 6(Level 6 shift) the most powerful level (the powers o=in this show is from level
0 to level 5,the strongest level is 5)
the characters' powers are amazing! Accelerator is the best! and Kamijou Touma with his Imagine Breaker to fight
with(since he is level 0) and still Misaka mikoto( Biribiri,The Railgun, The Electromaster) is my favorite Esper and
character!
The light Novel is going so far good and the anime is full of live action and comedy moments, the characters are very
good, I like all of them, can't wait for the movie!
It started uber slow. Then continued uber uber slow. Well, can't blame them for following the Light Novel.
I was turned off a bit by the harem thing and the certain drastic fluctuation of the plot of the story. Anyways, i can see the (micro)development somehow. And it gets pretty interesting as the story progresses. Not the best watch, but not the worst either.
The best Light Novel of fixion! Awesome! fortunately heard of this series on the internet, check some previews, and let
me tell you it was the greatest thing I have seen. To Aru Majutsu No Index, has too many features that make it a great
and very modest anime: different genres like action, fiction, violence, supernatural, humor and fanservice, well
designed characters, a soundtrack colossal openings and endings exceptional and like all good things last long, has only
two seasons. 10 points!, including its spin-off and Ova.
not bad for the story, interesting "ability" for the characters especially our main leads. Story lingering on a bit too much at times. condensing it should add to more dramatic atmosphere. would like to see how story continues and unfolds. probably a season 3 later on given the light novel development. seiyuu cast every stronger but seems to lack development in characters beside our main leads. the fact that what kind of power is hidden with our main male lead remains a mystery. eager to see what it is.
I personally prefered Railgun > Index, due to Index dragging the storyline all over the place. It felt like they just dragged all kinds of things and put it together, not giving their all into how to connect things. However, it was still good. Railgun just appealed to me more. From what I hear, you're supposed to watch Index Season 1, Railgun, then Index Season 2. But I did so with Railgun first, so I suppose it's fine. Lastly, Railgun is more focused on Misaka and Academy City, while Index focuses on Touma and the world of Science and Religion. JUST WATCH IT. YOU'LL SEE.
When magic meets technology epic begins, surely that words are stuck in my mind because it is why this anime is so good. Touma our main hero as well as level 0 struggles to help those in need and keep himself inside school. We got other awesome characters like Accelerator, Styil Magnus and Kanzaki which are second plan characters but are greatly influencing the stream of where anime goes. It concetreates on few main events and Angel fall which on the first sight to me was suposted to be shit actually turned out to be great. We got here likable characters which keep you wishing to see them again and again, one of the best opening scenes to me and plot that always gives you some thrill and lots of entertaiment
It will bleed your head with science fiction. If you can bear that, then you're in for a magic-thriller kind of thing with decent character development (save Index, perhaps), and nice fight scenes. If you hate Harry Potter, then this might not be the show for you.
Oh, and I'm waiting for the second season, some more thrilling things might be awaiting us.
totally love it...my fave indeed...
especially when i see the blushing biribiri...XD
and can't stop laughing my head off on the beach scene...^_^
in my oppinion the story even better than the previous one ( majutsu no railgun )...
let see how is gonna end...:D
Good series. Main plot isn't as interesting to me as the side plot that caused the spin off series To Aru Kagaku
No Railgun. Still a good series with decent character development. Worth watching at least once, especially if you
plan on watching it's spin off series.
Update: I recently heard a second season was coming out, and search around a bit. Lo and behold, To Aru Majutsu no
Index II. Ive seen the first two episodes, and hope to see more in the near future. (all these sequels, kinda makes me
wish Minitokyo differentiated between seasons)
Action/Drama. Covers first 4 novels i think. Some of the content and speech are skipped out which are essential for the character to understand. A certain boy has a right hand that can negate any abnormal powers.
Saw the entire series, and boy was it good. The final arc and ending were a bit confusing and a little anti-climactic, but it's excusable for a series that still has more to go (liek a second season). Totally in love with Kaori and Himegami, too.
I'm currently watching 'Railgun', which is almost more interesting than the rest of the show. I really liked this show's ideas, but the material is presented in a haphazard manner. It was frustrating to see really important issues brought up only to be almost entirely ignored. Also, the story arcs never quite related to one another, so the show never felt like it had an overarching plot that was moving in a specific direction. That being said, the manga is still going on, so we will hopefully be getting another season someday, and maybe these issues will be cleared up then.
Waiting for the second season...first season left a rather bad taste tbh...with little plot development and more minor "incidents" which took up entire episodes, it felt like a waste of time watching three-four episodes which had to explain the entire origin of the problem to it's solution. I mean, the parts with the Mages and the Church were awesome...everything else just kinda ruined it along the way.
