To Aru Majutsu no Index is set in Academy City, a technologically advanced Academic city located at western Tokyo which studies scientifically advanced superhuman students with powers, but is also set in a world where magic is real. Toma Kamijo is a student in Academy City whose right hand, the Imagine Breaker, has the ability to cancel out any supernatural powers, but also his own luck. One day he finds a young girl hanging on his balcony railing named Index. She is a nun from Necessarius, a secret magic branch of the Church of England, and her mind has been implanted with the Index Librorum Prohibitorum—103,000 forbidden magical books the Church has removed from distribution. His encounter with her leads him to meet others from the secret world of science and magic and an adventure with his friends where science and magic collide. T?ma's abnormal power places him at the center of conflicts involving magicians and science-based espers in Academy City. As Toma tries to help and protect his friends, he learns the people he knows are not as they appear and begins to attract the attention of magicians and espers alike as they try to unravel the secrets of Academy City and Index.

CyanideBlizzard's To Aru Majutsu no Index Tv Review

Rated: 9

Toaru Majutsu no Index is one of those shows that completely caught me off guard. I deeply regretted not giving it a full view the first time I watched it. The first season has probably one of the strongest plot progressions I've seen in quite some time. Strong characters, a continually interesting storyline, well done animation and a great soundtrack, it's no wonder I've viewed this show three times. The worst part is I get more addicted to it each time I view it.

If you don't mind lengthy dialogue, some generic story elements here and there, and a bit of fan service here and there, Toaru season 1 will easily fit the bill. It's just such a shame that the second season seems even worse after my re-viewing of Toaru Majutsu no Index season 1.

It started uber slow. Then continued uber uber slow. Well, can't blame them for following the Light Novel.

I was turned off a bit by the harem thing and the certain drastic fluctuation of the plot of the story. Anyways, i can see the (micro)development somehow. And it gets pretty interesting as the story progresses. Not the best watch, but not the worst either.

The best Light Novel of fixion! Awesome! fortunately heard of this series on the internet, check some previews, and let me tell you it was the greatest thing I have seen. To Aru Majutsu No Index, has too many features that make it a great and very modest anime: different genres like action, fiction, violence, supernatural, humor and fanservice, well designed characters, a soundtrack colossal openings and endings exceptional and like all good things last long, has only two seasons. 10 points!, including its spin-off and Ova.

not bad for the story, interesting "ability" for the characters especially our main leads. Story lingering on a bit too much at times. condensing it should add to more dramatic atmosphere. would like to see how story continues and unfolds. probably a season 3 later on given the light novel development. seiyuu cast every stronger but seems to lack development in characters beside our main leads. the fact that what kind of power is hidden with our main male lead remains a mystery. eager to see what it is.

I personally prefered Railgun > Index, due to Index dragging the storyline all over the place. It felt like they just dragged all kinds of things and put it together, not giving their all into how to connect things. However, it was still good. Railgun just appealed to me more. From what I hear, you're supposed to watch Index Season 1, Railgun, then Index Season 2. But I did so with Railgun first, so I suppose it's fine. Lastly, Railgun is more focused on Misaka and Academy City, while Index focuses on Touma and the world of Science and Religion. JUST WATCH IT. YOU'LL SEE.

When magic meets technology epic begins, surely that words are stuck in my mind because it is why this anime is so good. Touma our main hero as well as level 0 struggles to help those in need and keep himself inside school. We got other awesome characters like Accelerator, Styil Magnus and Kanzaki which are second plan characters but are greatly influencing the stream of where anime goes. It concetreates on few main events and Angel fall which on the first sight to me was suposted to be shit actually turned out to be great. We got here likable characters which keep you wishing to see them again and again, one of the best opening scenes to me and plot that always gives you some thrill and lots of entertaiment
