Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru (UraBoku) is a story of a mysterious boy with mysterious ability, Giou Yuki. Right after he was born, his mother left him near an orphanage, and was found. Because of that event, Yuki strives for independence. He hates being a burden to anyone near him, but at the same time, he was afraid of being left alone. Moreover, ever since he can remember he had a strange ability where when he touches others, he can feel their emotion (mostly anger & sadness). Unable to control it, he often made insensitive blunders in the past. He later met with a mysterious beautiful man who saves his lives, but somehow he feels so nostalgic, like he's met him before. While death threats and his ability increasing, the man who claimed to be his older brother suddenly appear, so what will Yuki do when he learn the truth?

ShannaxZala's Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru Tv And Manga Review

Warning: Undefined variable $cover in /var/www/minitokyo/www/html2/reviews.html on line 7

Rated: 10

I think this is an extremely enjoyable series. It's something that can drag you in and keep you there.

The manga kept me reading until I had managed to finish it, I can really say that it's addicting. Granted I did start reading it when it wasn't that far in... I still kept reading until I got caught up. The characters and the story can keep somebody sitting and reading for hours.
And although the Anime is not finished right now, I still want to say that it's been great so far. They are currently on episode 11, and I've been watching it since the start. It's a series that I'll actually consider watching in one day once it's finished.

I don't find the characters too incredibly funny nor is the story, but it certainly has it's moments.

I enjoyed this series, the story was quite engaging and the characters were well written. The characters themselves were well casted and those performances I enjoyed the voice work by all the seiyuu, they did a great job with their respective characters. I love the animation, it's well crafted in the color scheme used and the characters and settings are beautifully made. The relationships Yuki has with Luka and Kanata are interesting too and it's hard to decide which I ship Yuki with more. Touko is an amazing heroine among the series' female cast, she's a courageous young lady with a good heart. Rayflower's songs for the series are great to listen to. The only issue I have is that it didn't go much into Luka's twin brother, Luze, he has a stronger role in the manga where the story continues and could've benefited from a second season, which is rather sad as the anime industry caters with too much boys idol anime, because I feel shows like UraBoku have more to offer in regards to its' compelling story.I hope a second season will be considered in the future. UraBoku is one of my favorite shounen-ai series alongside Saint Beast.

I enjoyed this, thanks in large part to Luka. Yep, this would be the only anime I watched at first for shallow reasons, the man is just so darn pretty. After the second or third episode, I was hooked. It might not be entirely original (what anime is anymore?) but it's done in a way that keeps it fairly fresh. The anime ended in a sudden, unfinished way that a lot of series seem to be ending, but at least this time there was a feeling of completion.

One of the few BL animes I like. The story is good and the art is gorgeous, though the manga is a lot better. If you're into demons, you'll love Luka Crosszeria, his unconditional love for Yuuki (the main portagonist) is almost sick, lol.

"Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru" or in another simple words "..Uraboku..":
a Well Drawn anime....maybe this is the right thing to describe this anime by...
for me this anime kinda lost the story,or there is no story since the beginning so the art is the where to look at and what to drag you to watch the anime.
i found this anime by a random video on my laptop took from my sister's friend,i liked the art(it was a screenshots and some music)so i searched and downloaded the anime, maybe that was for some reason the fastest 12h(less actually cuz the ep is already 23min!!)in my life, the 24eps just finished too fast(glad they did because i didn't want to hear more of yuk's voice or his friendly shitty words!!)
but yeah for some reason this anime really drags you to finish it but it is for sure not it story because it doesn't have one(don't be fooled by the story told up there,it is just because they wanted something to call it story!)
and now maybe someone would ask...then why did you watch the entire anime after all !?
well it is for the ART because i'm someone who searches for art before story(lately every anime or movie have the same story even if some details changed!)so the art is very important reason,i also admire(Hotsuma,Shuusei,Touko,Tsukumo)so...yeah i guess four characters effects, don't they!!?
another reason,i won't say i didn't enjoy"much"in watching this anime(i only wanted yuki and luka die for some reason!!)O.o
i enjoined till i watched the ending"simple spoiler coming"....(what the F----)it is not just an open ending...there is no ending,i mean i don't want to see someone dies but while i was watching the 2ed OP and has that seen where every body was injured i waited for something big...for something to really please me....but no,they just decided to do something like that,i just felt like the ending was catted off or something,i mean they payed for it,couldn't they end it better(or kill yuki, luka maybe ^^)....DAMN IT
anyways this is my opinion on this anime and if you know you'd feel the same then go for it and watch it but don't wait for something big(at all) or better that the art it self, which means if you already dislike the art then leave it,it doesn't got a hope "^^.
well after a second though,if you don't like the art but you like the foolish talk about friendship and someone being mister nice\beloved\USELESS\weak...then you'r in the right place((or you can also try-Uta no Prince Sama & Vampire Knight))!.

I usually love the main character in animes. But not this one. Yuki, the boy, who looks like princess type, who looks weak but actually have super power but again not too often using it, also too kind hearted, almost didnt have any negative or funny sides, I dont like him. I prefer side character like Hotsuma. Oh I wish he is the main character instead. ToT

I started watching this anime because I read about it in a blog that I use, and what I read about it, as well as the images for the anime peaked my interest. My favorite character is Zess. I think the purple lightning he can use is very cool looking. I also like Zess' brother Luze. Sadly all bishies were the only good thing within this entire show. Their one main enemy, Reiga, is still alive so the ONE threat that they were supposed to deal with was still left to wander about. Takashiro himself said that Reiga would be back to continue with the fight. Here's an idea if you kill the enemy, you don't have to worry about when he's going to come back to start this fight up all over again. So many things were brought up this anime, but almost all of them weren't touched upon beyond just mentioning them. I was completely confused with the appearance of Luze and that they introduced him in the next to last episode of the series. I find myself once again asking why? What's the point of it, if the series is at it's end? It just seems like there are too many questions left unanswered because I found myself asking why to A LOT of things in this anime and having NOTHING there in the series to answer those numerous questions. At first I hoped that once more manga volumes are released that they give this anime a second season, too bad that the current series was handled and most likely anything else will be handled by J.C. Staff so therefore it completely kills my desire for a sequel. The ending of the anime was extremely disappointing. J.C. Staff has really been on a decline with certain anime and sadly Uragiri wa Boku no Namae wo Shitteiru is nothing but another casualty.

Hmmm, the story isn't so great for me. The one I like to watch in this anime is not the main character. But the other. n that is Hotsuma. His personality n story is much more interesting for me. Heheh... . But, too bad he isnt the main character. *sigh*

I've seen it completely! I really, really like it! I love the music bgm, it's really gorgeous! The art is great, after all is from an Hotaru Odagiri manga! ^___^v My fav character is Luka *^* but I like almost every character and also the slash pairings: Luka x Yuki, Hotsuma x Shusei, Senshirou x Kurouto, and I also like Tsukumo and Touko. Sometimes I found Yuki a little annoying XD but he's fine too.
The only sad thing is... it's not shounen ai *sigh* But hey, it's still full of bishies (and hints) *kufufufu*

A really good anime. It's realy one of the best ones I have watched. And it has a good ending - kinda confusing though.
Characters are awesome, especially Luka is really cool xD I really like other works of this manga-ka too, but I haven't red all of the manga yet. Still, anime is awesome.

This series quickly caught my attention on both manga as well as the animated when that came about! I love how the characters are drawn!
This anime isn't original nor does it seem to pretend to be. It borrows so much from other plots that it would be difficult to compare it to just one or two other anime yet the story still feels fresh and fast paced!
Warning: there is a bit of BL but I don't feel it detracts from the story!

I've already recently started watching this anime, and it captivated my heart and soul immediately. I read the manga first (in one or two days) and the next day I watched all the 17 episodes that have already aired. Compared to the manga, the anime lacks in a few things, but I guess it would've been impossible to include it all.
I found about it on manga site. the name seemed pretty interesting so I decided to check it out. and while i was searching for some missing chapters, I found out it was also made into an anime and wanted to watch it, of course. And what i found - was food for my heart and soul. Wahh! Luka is just soo cute! but still I prefer calling him zess. suits him better. and I totally agree to you, ShannaxZala , about averything you said. except hotsuma and shuusei's relationship is 50 % my favorite. the other half belongs to a possible, future or past relationship between a male Yuki and Luka :x
btw, does anyone know where I can find chapters 13 to 16? in english if possible

This is one of the most heartwarming series I've ever watched. I had read the Manga first and nearly died of happiness when I heard about it being an Anime. I will definitely finish watching it!
I really can say that this is easily one of the best series I've ever seen and read, I can't get over how well the story is written. Not to mention, the characters are absolutely beautiful. And even though I normally HATE the main female characters, I don't hate the one is this series. As she uses a large sword. And that's just awesome.
My favourite relationship is Hotsuma and Shuusei's (If you couldn't already tell) but between the two of them, I DO prefer Shuusei. He is just so quiet, nice, pretty... Something I enjoy looking for in a boy~

Sometimes, the pacing is rather slow... and sometimes it's just decent.
I like Yuki just right, but Luka is really a formidable character. He's loyalty is also to be admired.
I also like the animation style!! Really nice...

Too bad the episodes are slow on the update. But of course, it's worth the wait~!
