Even after death, life is full of paperwork and criminals.
Asato
Tsuzuki is a 26-year-old, happy-go-lucky and dorky shinigami (god of death) whose job is to makes sure that those
who are dead remain dead and stay in their proper realms. Even though he's had this job for over 70 years, he is in the
worst division with horrible pay. He also has a knack for not keeping partners (since shinigami work in pairs), but now
he seems to have one that will stick around; stubborn, smart-mouthed, serious and defensive 16 year old, Hisoka Kurosaki. With each case they investigate, they come closer to the
conspiracies of the serial killer Dr. Kazutaka Muraki.
Asato's relationship with Hisoka is growing stronger and closer...but there is a dark secret to how Asato died that
will not give him peace.

Well, to enjoy this anime you must forgive some clichés :) But the ending is not foreseeable at all. To be honest, its a litlle out of sense. But its nice. I would prefer other ending, but still, its a nice anime.
Specially if you are the shounenai-yaoi type. If you enjoy the style you will become a Muraki x Tsuzuki fan or a Tsuzuki X Hisoka fan for sure XD
But there are nothing explicit in it, you wont download a hentai, dont worry. But there are some suggestions of sex and nudes. Is a very good taste scene, but it is a yaoi scene. Man almost kiss themselves in this anime.

Yami no Matsuei, the manga is better than the anime (which is always). But the anime isnt that bad either. The seiyuus r
fitting each character voices. There are a lot of shounen ai hints on it. N I love Muraki x Tsuzuki, more than Hisoka
pair. :D
But the stories itself isnt about shounen ai. It's about shinigami in police style division. they take care of some
mysterious cases n got paid.
Love this anime! It has less than perfect flow of animation, like the animators got tired of making the characters move - thus the 9.5 rating. Otherwise it's simply delicious. It's beautiful really, all the characters are bishounen which makes it easy on the eyes. As an appreciative female who loves yaoi and shounen-ia, this is important to me. Obviously, though, there are things which make this anime truly deep and emotionally investing. The character of Tsuzuki is very three dimensional, his personality is endearing and you always know you're dealing with a man who's hiding a world behind those eyes. A world we can hardly fathom. His dealings and relationships with the other characters are all unique though you'll find a great deal more of that development in the manga, especially as concerns Tatsumi. His character has woefully little screen time in the anime. I can see where someone who hasn't read the manga may be somewhat confused as to what's going on since it all goes so fast but it bears repeating so worry yourself not. The ending has been mentioned before as odd and to that I'd agree. There's an ending that I, and I assume most viewers, would prefer but it is as it is and it's not really a bad one. It's not even the end of the manga, which may be why it seems such an odd end for the anime. All in all, this anime is best because of its characters and its beautiful men. The mysteries are engaging and suspenseful, the villain is hand and fist the best villain around, the Japanese voice actors are AMAZING, the music is good and stands out...just go for it and watch it! Oh and it's not really a yaoi but be prepared for lots of man-love. I thought it would be appropriate to watch with my parents but the characters are always professing love and touching each other in weird ways so yeah.
Really like this anime but the fact that it was on hiatus for more than a year made me really upset. I've seen most of the episodes and read some of the manga. Love Tsuzikil, he's so funny. He makes me want to watch it more. Haven't seen the English Dub, really don't want to, but I will do, when I can bear it. XD
For me, it was enjoyable. Although I was trying to watch it when I had family over, so I had to re-watch it so it made
more sense. And once I did watch it again, I loved it. I ADORED it. It was such a great story. It's got a nice mix
between being a romantic series, a comical series, a dark series, and a really confusing series. Yes, not to mention,
Hisoka is a picture of true beauty. But yes, this was well worth the watch, and I'd happily re-watch it whenever I
felt like it. It's just that awesome of an anime! (I L-O-V-E dark animes, let me tell you. Even if it did seem
otherwise before I told you...)
I did state that Hisoka was a picture of true beauty earlier. Yes, that means he's my favourite character in the
series. Between him, Muraki, and Tsuzuki though it took a while to decide...
