Collection of oneshots:
1) Natsu Jikan (Summertime Memory): after his mother dies, Satoshi Shinozaki goes to a small town to look for a certain "Ryuugo Takagi" whose name he had seen on one of her love letters. After
rescuing a man from drowning, Satoshi finds out that he happens to be the person he was looking for. Ryuugo doesn't give
him a warm welcome and says he wants nothing to do with Satoshi or his mother, but Satoshi is determined to find out
what exactly happened between them.
2) Torrid Night: Takaaki returns to his hometown to visit his older
brother, Nozomi, pay his respects to his deceased mother and forget about the pain brought on by his fiancée's sudden
death. Nozomi tries his best to comfort him, but then secrets from the past begin to surface...
3)
That's What God Says: Izumi Nonomiya is always rejected by the girls whom he confesses to because he's "not their type"
and more on the "cute" side rather than the "attractive" one. One day after returning from school he bumps into his
mean-looking neighbor, Tetsuya Tataguchi, who's bleeding profusely, so Izumi offers him his handkerchief. Even though
he's initially scared of Tetsuya, Izumi still thinks he's cool nonetheless; however, his opinion changes drastically
when he sees Tetsuya doing something...unusual to his handkerchief!
4) Sweet Little Devil: Izumi and
Tetsuya are now dating, but things get complicated when an old crush of Izumi's starts going after Tetsuya.
5) Nemuru Otoko (The Sleeping Man): on the night of the New Year's Eve, Naoki Yamada and Tatsuya meet to dig up a
time capsule...

Wow. With this, Saika Kunieda has proved she's excellent at portraying both comedy and drama convincingly. These
stories didn't have me in tears, but I still feel a dull pain every time I remember these stories because I realize
I can't change the characters' destinies or give them happily-ever-afters, no matter how much I'd want to
(especially after what they've been put through).
The last story especially was, in my opinion, very beautiful in its simplicity and the art never failed to disappoint
me. Lower mark goes for some parts of the plot in the first story, but that's strictly subjective anyway.
