Arya is the youngest daughter of Lord Eddard Stark. Quite tomboyish in personality, Arya prefers to duel and run around the forest rather than stay home and sew, which leads to numerous arguments with her older and more traditionally ladylike sister, Sansa. After Arya receives a sword from her half brother, Jon Snow, and begins training in secret, Eddard recognizes her skill and even brings Syrio Forel, a renowned swordsman, to teach her how to duel when they move to King's Landing. Later on, Arya is shown to be quite resourceful and sly, using her youth and apparent vulnerability to get by when the Stark family falls apart.
