The Cat Returns is a light piece of fluff that can be enjoyed by animation fans of all ages, but which probably works best for a younger female crowd. There are moral lessons, but it's also got a good story with lots of humor and just enough action scenes to keep your attention from wandering. Otherwise there's not a whole lot of substance -- if you're looking for a more serious and slightly darker Ghibli film where a character gets drawn into another world, I would recommend "Spirited Away". The Cat Returns is a good movie if you want to sit back and relax and watch something for pure entertainment value, and is probably not a bad movie to watch with a group of friends, who can share in the laughter and absurdity together.

Such a lovely movie! The graphic style (as for characters) is a little bit more modern than the usual Ghibli signature, so it looks kinda refreshing. The story is not as deep as it was in the first movie, but it¿s quite cute. I loved that Haru, with the Baron and other cats' help, passed of being a regular/gray/boring high school chick to a cool/self-confident young woman. Those kind of "makeovers" are my favorites :3
Everyone knows how magical and adventures Ghibli moves are, and this one was no differrent.
A story girl who was taken to the world of talking cats for a feast because she saved a cat prince of that world who was
visiting the human world. More like forced to go and to marry the prince and become a cat. But before she was taken she
asked Baron to help her. The anime was basically her escape. People say that its similar to 'Whisper of the
heart' I think that similarity was limited to the baron part and in both the movies the girls had to work on
'finding themselves'(i liked that part).
A funny and lighthearted film by Studio Ghibli. The plot is a bit too simple and thin for my taste, but I believe
it's still a jolly good fun for kids. I kept waiting for something to happen between the Baron and Haru but nothing
did... The chemistry is a bit wasted.
The ending theme is cheerful and it brings a smile to my face every time I listen to it :)
Guh, too bad I didn't own DVD for this anime.
Definitely a great anime for everyone and for cat-lovers.
I first came across this anime is when I bought anime magazine and there's a review about this anime. I didn't
give it much thought at that time. But last year, I thought why not give it a try? Since I have all the time in the
world for anime and I really need to refresh my 'anime-list'. xD
The graphic is simple but beautiful, (simplicity is good!) and the story was very heart-warming and funny. Even thou
Baron is a cat, he definitely sounds and looks cool. :O
Highly recommended!
This was a good Studio Ghibli film. The characters were enjoyable and fantastically inept (with the exception of a few). I was surprised I didn't update this as soon as I had watched it. Interesting plot, good character development, good animation (minus the audio syncing), and good audio.
